Elateridae: Agrypninae

A large genus of more than 130 Australian species, which range in length from 6mm to 23mm. Most are light or dark reddish-brown and all have the upper surface densely clothed in fine hairs (setae); in some species these hairs may vary in colour to form patterns.

Many are attracted to lights at night.
