Within this sand-stone-belt SE Melbourne region, grows in seasonally wet–soil grasses'–sedges' and indigenous herbs' rich vegetation. in fine textured soils (clays, clayey–sands and clayey–silts), including margins of wetlands as here the original condition was an edge of a wetland to the north, with River Red Gum and Swamp Gum trees (still present), and red bluff sandstone clays moist patches and so on.
