I wonder if it is the same female that used to hunt in this area about 3-4 years ago, before she lost her partner?

Quite possibly. I’m not sure, my ID was just a guess. Would have been handy if its head wasn’t damaged. I drove past it a number of times, and curiosity got the better of me.
